Princeton, NJ - Hosted by Princeton University,  Adelphi University sent a small squad to the Sam Howell Invitational on Saturday, Apr. 2 to compete against some top competition from the Division I level.

The defending NE10 champion women's 4x400, consisting of Gabrielle Griffin, Gabrielle Buissereth, Katherine Marsh and Isabel Marsh came in second in the relay event, posting a time of 3:55.43. Their race concluded two seconds faster than the next two teams, and fell 12 seconds shy of the top quartet out of St. John's.

Buissereth fell .10 seconds shy of her career-best in the outdoor 400 race, clocking in at 56.31 to finish in third behind sprinters from Columbia and Princeton. Her time was good enough for an IC4A/ECAC qualifying mark, where she ranks 26th.

Both Marsh sisters ran the 800 meter event, with Isabel taking second and Katherine finishing eighth. I. Marsh was just .27 off the first place competitor out of Iona, clocking in at 2:14.87, which is a new career-best mark in the specialty.

For the men, Matthew Gemma ran the fastest time in the NE10 in the 3000 steeplechase, with a time of 9:43.42. His race is nearly one minute faster than the next time (10:41.64) on the conference list and is second in the region as of this weekend.

Kyle Cronin moved into the top-20 in the Northeast-10 Conference for his 23.08 time in the 200 and Tyler Shepherd appears at no. 11 among league competition for his 50.76 finish in the 400, which was good enough for top-20 in a field of 29 competitors.
