Endicott, N.Y. - In its best finish at the tournament since 2013, the Adelphi University men's golf team came in fifth at the 2022 Northeast-10 Conference Championship, which was held Sunday and Monday at the En Joie Golf Club.
The Panthers finished sixteen strokes off the lead with a two-day score of 901 and only trailed fourth-place Franklin Pierce University by a single stroke.
Sophomore
Alec Ramos carded an eighth-place finish and became the first Panther since
Ben Donohue in 2018 to place within the Top 10. He tallied a 69 in his final round to conclude a 6-over 222, and tied two other golfers with a tournament-best score of even-par on par threes.
Ramos had company, too.
Filip Wetterqvist finished in a tie for 10th place with a 9-over 225 and tied for second place at the championship with a score of 5-under-par on Par 5 holes.
In only his third start as a freshman,
Johnny Solari tied for 14th place with an 11-over 227. Solari collected three birdies on the second day, including one on hole 12, which was a Par 5.
Mason Rivera finished his tournament play in a tie for 25th place, shooting a two-day score of 15-over 231.
Andrew Brunozzi rounded out Adelphi's lineup with a 19-over 235.
The Panthers will be back on the course this Friday and Saturday (Oct. 7-8) at the Saint Rose Invitational at Pinehaven Country Club in Guilderland, N.Y.
