Ronkonkoma, N.Y. - Former Adelphi University women's soccer student-athlete Chelsea Wollman Imbriano '14 has been recognized among a distinct group of '30 Under 30' recipients by Long Island Business News in 2021.

Even before the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, Wollman had tallied a vast number of heroic hours as a registered nurse at North Shore University Hospital, where she has remained since 2014.

The '30 Under 30" Awards, which were presented at a ceremony in November, honor bright and dynamic young professionals, ages 30 and under, who contribute to the Long Island community through public service.

While she serves in the neurosurgical intensive care unit, Wollman has been at the frontlines of saving lives and preventing further outbreaks during the ongoing global health crisis.

Not to be outdone, Wollman's efforts leading the Neurosurgical Intensive Care Unit resulted in the high achievement of becoming the first Neurosurgical ICU in New York State to receive an American Association of Critical Care Nurses Gold Beacon Award.

Wollman has been active in giving back to her alma mater, after playing four seasons (2010-13) on the nationally-ranked women's soccer team, under Adelphi Athletic Hall of Famers Rich Ilsley and Chris Armas.

Most notably, in the community.

She serves as chair of the Adelphi Women's Giving Circle, a philanthropic organization committed to enhancing the community, forging new relationships and uniting female philanthropists.

Wollman also stands as president-elect of the Alpha Omega Chapter of Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society and chairs its Community Service and Volunteerism Committee, in which she organizes initiatives to help charities, such as the Ronald McDonald House of New Hyde Park and Island Harvest.

After participating in two study abroad opportunities as an undergrad that took her on healthcare service missions to Peru and the Navajo Nation, Wollman continues to help on an international scale by supporting the Promoting Health in Haiti Foundation through various fundraisers and textbook drives for underserved nursing students.

In 2017, Wollman was named one of Adelphi's own '10 Under 10', which recognizes alumni who have achieved exceptional career and professional accomplishments within 10 years of graduating.
