Garden City, N.Y. - For the third-consecutive year, Adelphi softball pitcher
Ally Muller has been named to the CoSIDA Division II Academic All-District Team, it was announced last Thursday.
Muller will again aim for her first-ever Academic All-America honor, following a year that saw the star hurler scoop up her first NFCA All-America nod this spring.
A three-time NE10 Elite 24 Award winner, Muller graduated in May with her bachelor's degree in Psychology and a 3.981 cumulative grade-point average.
In 2021, Muller was just as exceptional in the circle, as she was in the classroom.
The right-hander posted a 17-5 record with a league-leading 13 shutouts and 178 strikeouts, en route to being named the NE10 Southwest Division Pitcher of the Year.
Muller was nearly untouchable in conference play. In 14 regular-season games against NE10 opponents, the D2CCA All-America Honorable Mention tallied a 0.40 ERA, to go along with a .117 batting average against.
At one point, Muller tossed 86.2 scoreless innings between Mar. 27 and May 9 and won 16 consecutive decisions. She ranked in the Top 25 in all of Division II in complete games, ERA, strikeouts and strikeouts per seven innings.
Muller looks to join three-time Academic All-America selection and current Adelphi assistant softball coach
Brenna Martini as the only CoSIDA Academic All-Americans in the program's history.
