Garden City, N.Y. -- The Adelphi University men's tennis team closed out the regular season with an 8-1 Northeast-10 Conference win over the Stonehill College Skyhawks on Saturday afternoon.
Prior to the match, the team honored its three seniors,
Uladzislau Litvinchuk,
Roey Heymann and
Christopher Charles.
Litvinchuk shined on Senior Day, going 2-0 in contrasting fashion. He and
Matteo Cannavera edged out a 9-7 win at No. 1 doubles to give Adelphi a 2-0 lead overall, as the Panthers took a 2-1 lead headed into singles play, before rolling in singles with the loss of just one game as the first completed singles match of the afternoon.
Playing its first match outdoors at home of the spring, Adelphi swept singles en route to the victory, as Cannavera followed with a straightforward 6-3, 6-2 win at No. 1, before Heymann clinched with a straight sets win at No. 3.
Sabin Adrian Saveluc had the toughest match of the afternoon, as he edged a tight opener and rebounded from a second set bagel to roll in the deciding tiebreak, 7-5, 0-6, 10-3.

Ending their conference slate with a 7-2 record, the Panthers earned the No. 3 seed into next week's NE10 Championship, and will host No. 6 Assumption at 2 pm on Tuesday, April 18.
