Sparkill, N.Y. — After a third consecutive Northeast 10 Championship title, the Adelphi men's tennis team made its return to the NCAA Tournament.
Receiving the No. 3 seed in the East Region, the Panthers traveled up to Rockland County to take on No. 2-seeded St. Thomas Aquinas, the ECC runner-up.
In doubles play, the Spartans earned the win in the No. 1 match, 6-2. The Adelphi pairings of Louca Bertone and Thomas Horsley, along with Leo Silverston and Spyridon Papageorgiou, were locked into close battles for the all-important doubles point. STAC pulled away in the No. 2 flight, winning 7-5 and going up 1-0 in the team score.
Bertone won the first set of singles play, but the Spartans took the other three. The Panthers continued to battle, taking leads in the second set in three of the four ongoing matches, but STAC slowly worked its way back and gained an advantage. After falling behind, the host fought back and took the second sets in the No. 4, No. 3 and No. 2 matches to go on and win 4-0.
The Adelphi men's tennis team ends its 2025-26 season with a 15-8 record, a share of the NE10 regular-season title and yet another NE10 championship.
