North Attleboro, Mass. — After two Northeast 10 titles and deep postseason runs, both the Adelphi women's and men's tennis teams have been tapped as preseason favorites in the NE10 Coaches' Preseason Poll released by the league office Tuesday morning.

The Adelphi women's tennis team is coming off a historic season after winning the conference championship and defeating Jefferson in the NCAA East Regional to reach the Sweet Sixteen for the first time in program history.
Although the team loses NE10 Player of the Year Katarina Liedbeck, five all-conference selections in Genesis Beltran, Roisin Boyd, Kayla Castellano, Sara Lindeman and Zuzanna Witkowska return.
Boyd and Lindeman will look to continue their perfect records in NE10 singles play after two 11-0 seasons, while Beltran carries a five-match winning streak into the new year.
The Panthers earned five first-place votes, ahead of Assumption, which received one.
Adelphi's men's tennis team is looking for its fourth straight NE10 title after defeating Assumption in a thrilling final.
Earning three first-place votes, the Panthers edged out second-place Southern New Hampshire and third-place Assumption, with each earning one first-place vote.
Reigning NE10 Player of the Year Louca Bertone is back for the Panthers, but the team will have to rely on plenty of new faces.
Bertone was 14-5 as Adelphi's No. 1 and 8-1 in conference play.
NE10 First Team and All-Championship Team selection Leo Silverston will play an elevated role this season after earning an 8-7 singles record, an 11-5 doubles record and securing the championship point for Adelphi in the No. 6 flight.
Head coach Rebecca Fakas and both Panther tennis teams open their seasons Saturday, Sept. 12, when Adelphi hosts Assumption at 9:30 a.m. in Garden City.
