Full All-Region Honorees
New Orleans, La. -- Eight members of the Adelphi University track and field team earned All-Region honors by the US Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (
USTFCCCA), it was announced by the organization on Monday.
Michael Grady was the lone representative for the men's side, earning kudos in the mile. The sophomore posted a season-best time of 4:12.44 at the Fast Track Last Chance meet over the weekend to finish fourth.
For the women,
Rebecca Celorio led the way with All-Region honors in four events, the mile, 3k, 5k and distance medley relay. Joining her in the All-Region DMR quartet was
Nicole Elarde, also selected All-Region in the 800m;
Mary Camarano, whose second All-Region nod came in the 60m hurdles, and
Gabriela Saltos.
Rounding out Adelphi's All-Region honorees were
Aleisha Jeffers (60m),
Emily Hagarty (penthalon), who set a new school record in the discipline earlier this season; and
Victoria Major, the NE10 indoor champion in the high jump.
The Panthers will open their outdoor season on Friday, March 24-25 for a two-day meet at Monmouth University.
