Princeton, NJ - Members of the Adelphi University track and field team who hit qualifying marks attended the Sam Howell Invite on Saturday, to continue outdoor season action.
Women's Highlights:
- Kayla Esposito came away with new personal bests in the 100 and 200 races, while also helping the women's 4x100 put together it's best time since the 2019 season. In the 100 she went 12.39 and clocked in at 25.85 in the 200.
- The 4x100 squad of Shareve Blair, Valencia Beaubrun, Esposito and Marissa Haye went 47.77 in the event, wrapping up just two seconds behind the top finisher from Princeton. This mark stands as the second best time in the Northeast 10 Conference so far this season, behind a crew from Southern Connecticut.
Men's Highlights:
- Evan Weber picked up where he left off from the indoor season, putting up a personal best in the 100 at 10.91. His 21st place finish was the fastest Division II time in the race, as the field was Division I heavy.
- Patrick Conley returned to action and put up PR marks in the 100 and 200, clocking in at 11.30 and 23.33, respectively.
- Men's mid-distance stars Jack Coyne and Deven Bernardin went 18-19 in the 800 meter run, respectively with the former collecting a new collegiate best in the outdoor race, at 1:55.20.
- Maxwell Krapf's 15:25.00 performance in the 5000 meter landed him the top-time in the NE10 after this weekend's events.
- David Williams was the lone D2 competitor in the 110 hurdles, where he clocked in at 14.41 in the prelims to race to a 14.54 finish in the finals for fifth overall.
The team will compete next at the Wilton Wright Invite on April 10, which stands as a preview meet for the Northeast 10 Conference Championship. Southern Connecticut State will serve as the host site for the league meet, slated to begin on May 1.
