North Attleboro, Mass. -
Jabari Holder continues to make Adelphi history as he becomes the first indoor track and field athlete to be named the Northeast 10 Conference Field Athlete and Field Rookie of the Year, following the 2026 indoor championship, the league announced on Friday.
Holder is the only double winner this season, and was the conference's lone rep on the men's side at the NCAA Championship. The first year won both the Long Jump and Triple Jump at the TRACK at new balance during the NE10 Championship and was voted by the league's coaches as the Field Athlete and Field Rookie of the Year. Holder is the first men's rookie to also win the overall "of the year" award since AIC's Leakey Kipkosegei won Track Athlete and Track Rookie in 2016.
He becomes the second student-athlete in Adelphi history to be named the NE10 Indoor Field Rookie of the Year, following in the footsteps of Kevin Nalisa (2019). The Panthers also had a Track Rookie of the Year in Felipe Custodio from the 2017-18 season.
Despite winning the jumps events at the conference championship, Holder put up his career marks in the long jump and triple jump at the Dr. Sander Scorcher (hosted by Columbia University) in late January. His triple jump attempt of 15.07m is a collegiate best and is also a new Adelphi record. He landed an 7.10m long jump attempt at the same meet - winning both events.
The rookie and the rest of the track and field program are now preparing for the outdoor season, slated to begin on Friday, March 27 at Monmouth.
