New London, N.H. - Kicking off the start of the 2015 fall portion of the schedule, the Adelphi University women's golf team concluded two days of competition at the Southern New Hampshire hosted Lady Penmen Invitational. The event took place at the par-73; 5,918-yard Lake Sunapee Country Club.
Finishing in 12th place to lead the Panthers was
Lucy Stevens with a two-round score of 165. After shooting an 84 in yesterday's opening round, Stevens improved her score by three shots today to shoot an 81. Meanwhile,
Deanna Dempsey put forth scorecards of 96 and 95 to finish with a total of 191. Her score landed her in 26th place out of 35 finishers.
Taking the team title for the weekend was the Warriors of Merrimack with a team score of 622, 38 strokes over par. Le Moyne (653) and Franklin Pierce (659) finished in second and third with Holy Cross (679), the host Penmen (747), and Assumption (863) rounding out the top six teams. Merrimack was guided to the weekend title by having the top three individual finishers, led by a 149, three over par score from Krystal Knight.
Looking ahead, the Panthers host the Northeast-10 Conference Championships this coming weekend at the Village Club of Sands Point in Port Washington. The two-round tournament begins on Friday.
