Oceanside, N.Y. - Adelphi University's women's golf team finished in third place at the Panther Battle at The Bay on Tuesday afternoon. Ivory Drusch led the way with a third-place finish, as two Panthers were honored following their final home tournament as members of the Brown and Gold.
As a team, the Cats placed third, trailing second-place Manhattan University by 14 strokes and finishing 44 shots ahead of fourth-place Bentley.
Drusch tied her career-best finish by placing third overall. She shot a 79 (+7) in round one, which featured a birdie on hole 15 and 10 pars. In round two, she dazzled with an even-par 72, marking a new career-best round for the sophomore. Her second round included four birdies and an eagle on the 518-yard, par-5 fifth hole.
Joining Drusch in the top 10 was Nikola Truhlarova, who finished ninth. The freshman shot +17 for the tournament. During her first round at the Golf Club at Middle Bay, she carded a 79 (+7) before following it up with an 82 (+10) on day two. Over the course of the tournament, she made 18 pars.
One spot shy of the top 10 was Jenny Kim, who finished 11th at +19 for the two-day event. Navigating the course with consistency, Kim shot an 82 in round one and carded an 81 in round two. She mixed in four birdies over her 36 holes played.
Adaline Ochoa led the way for Adelphi (B), shooting +22 en route to a top-15 finish (13th). She recorded back-to-back rounds of 83, making par 18 times.
Lauren Jaskier, who finished 18th as a member of Adelphi (B), and Cat Slade, who placed 25th, were each honored following the tournament for competing in their final home event as Adelphi Panthers. Jaskier tallied a birdie in each round, while Slade made par 10 times.
Head coach Bill Bresnan and the Panthers return to action on Monday, May 4, when they travel to Findlay, Ohio, to compete in the NCAA Regionals at Findlay Country Club.
