North Attleboro, Mass. – Adelphi University women's golf head coach Bill Bresnan was named the Northeast 10 Coach of the Year, as announced by the conference on Wednesday afternoon, while five Panthers earned All-Conference honors.
Bresnan led the program to new heights, as the women's golf team captured its first-ever NCAA Regional bid. The automatic bid came as a result of the team's first-place finish at the Northeast 10 Championship this past fall. As a team, the Panthers finished third or better in every tournament they competed in prior to the NCAA East Regional. The Cats won three tournaments while also recording five runner-up finishes across their 12 events this season.
Nikola Truhlarova, Filippa Schulze Doering and Ivory Drusch were each named to the NE10 All-Conference First Team.
Truhlarova was phenomenal in her first season as a Panther, highlighted by two individual victories. Her first came at the One Day at the Bay tournament, hosted by Hofstra University in the fall, where she shot a two-over par score. Her second victory came at the Millersville Women's Spring Invitational, where she finished at eight-over par.
Schulze Doering enjoyed another successful season for the Cats, claiming an individual title at the Battle at Bull's Bridge, hosted by the University of Hartford, after carding a one-over par performance. During the season, she also accumulated four top-five finishes, including a second-place finish at the NE10 Championship to help lead the Panthers to the conference title.
Drusch, fresh off her Rookie of the Year campaign, took her game to another level this season. The sophomore recorded six top-10 finishes, including a pair of third-place finishes. Drusch's best round came at the Panther Battle at the Bay, where she fired an even-par 72, helping her post a career-best 36-hole score of seven-over par.
Rounding out the All-Conference selections for the Panthers were Jenny Kim and Lauren Jaskier, who were both named to the NE10 All-Conference Second Team.
Kim tallied four top-10 finishes this season en route to the selection, including a fifth-place finish at the Battle at Bull's Bridge tournament, where she tied her career-best 36-hole score of 11-over par.
Jaskier recorded two top-10 finishes this season for the Brown and Gold, highlighted by a fifth-place finish at the Saint Anselm Florida Invitational, where she shot 18-over par to help lead the team to a tournament victory.
Bresnan and the Panthers will now look ahead to next season with the majority of their lineup set to return, as they aim to build upon another historic campaign.
