#1 Adelphi and #2 LeMoyne Scheduled to Clash For Third Time in 2015 at The Final Four

The Panthers are searching for a record seventh National Championship.

Salem, VA - After earning the top seed in the North Region for the 2015 NCAA Division II National Championship, the Adelphi University women's lacrosse team (19-1) dispatched fourth seeded for the third time in 2015 10-6 on Saturday, May 9 to earn a 10th trip to the NCAA Division II Final Four and a May 16 meeting with #2 LeMoyne College (18-3). The contest is slated for 11:00 am on Saturday, May 16 in on the campus of Roanoke College in Salem, Virginia.

 For the third time in as many weeks, the Adelphi University women's lacrosse team faced off against the Stonehill College Skyhawks on Motamed Field, this time in the first round of the NCAA Division II Tournament. Buouyed by eight first half goals and a five point day by Alexa Froccaro, the Panthers advanced to the Final Four with a 10-6 victory.

Senior attacker Julia Suriani scored a career-high six goals to lead the fourth-ranked and second-seeded Le Moyne College women's lacrosse team to a 13-9 victory over the fifth-ranked and third-seeded University of New Haven in the first round of the NCAA Championships at Ted Grant Field. With the victory, the Dolphins tie the program's record for most wins in a season (18).

Garden City, N.Y. - In a game where they never trailed, the top-seeded Adelphi University women's lacrosse team captured the program's fifth Northeast-10 Conference Championship title over the second-seeded Le Moyne College Dolphins, 14-5. 

The Panthers (18-1) scored the first six goals of the contest en route to the victory and were helped out on the day by a game-high four goals by Alexa FroccaroRachel O'Brien chipped in three for Adelphi, while Emily Keesling,Felicia Mills and Danielle Jaycox all scored twice. Ryley Weber, the game's Most Outstanding Player who joined Froccaro and Mills on the All-Tournament team, won five draw controls and caused one turnover to anchor the defensive effort. Le Moyne (17-3) got three goals on the afternoon from Maggie Monnat, who joined teammate Kayla Szczesniak on the All-Tournament Team. FULL RECAP

All-Time Record:
The Panthers hold an 8-3 lead in the all-time series with the Dolphins, but are currently on a four game win streak. The last victory for LeMoyne in the all-time series came via an 8-6 score on Sunday, May 5 in the Northeast-10 Conference Championship game, which was held in Syracuse, New York. 


What to Watch For:
1. Adelphi has the second highest scoring offense in the country at 16.05 goals per game and is led by a trio of 80+ points scorers in All-Americans Alexa Froccaro (92 pts, 67g, 25a), Rachel O'Brien (87pts, 37g, 50a) and Jacqueline Jahelka (83pts, 65g, 18a). The attack also defends, as the above trio, along with Emily Keesling (57pts, 35g, 22a) have a combined 68 caused turnovers. 
2. Le Moyne counters with All-America 
Erica Geremia (118 pts / 66g / 52a)  and Maggie Monnat (58 assists) on offense and NE-10 Goalie of the Year Molly Marbut (.519 save per. / 6.92 gaa) in the cage.
3. Adelphi is not just an offense force, as All-Americans Ryley Weber and Camille Rosellini anchor a defense that is second in the nation and tops in the Northeast-10 in Goals Against Average, holding opponents to just 5.10 goals per contest. 
4.  The Dolphin defense is led by Vicki Graveline, who set a program record in caused turnovers with 39 in 2015, the same numbers of turnovers caused this season by Weber.
5. The winner of Saturday's game will have a quick turnaround to face the winner of the Lindenwood / Lock Haven for the national championship on Sunday.
