Men's Tennis Blanks Franklin Pierce, 9-0

Panthers advance to Northeast-10 Tournament with 8-2 conference record.

The men will now compete in the Northeast-10 Tournament stating April 22.
Rindge, N.H. - The Adelphi University men's tennis team traveled to the campus of Franklin Pierce University for its final match of the regular season on Saturday afternoon. The Panthers blanked the host Ravens, 9-0, to improve to 10-6 overall and 8-2 in conference play. The Panthers secured the No. 3 seed in the Northeast-10 Conference Tournament, advancing to the playoffs for the third straight season. With the loss, the Ravens end their season at 4-8 overall and 3-7 in the conference. 

The Panthers swept all three doubles matches to move into the driver's seat, with the toughest victory coming at the No. 1 spot. Patrick Gilhuly and Christopher Brewer pushed Sander Brenner and Uladzislau Litvinchuk to the limit, but the Brown and Gold came away with a 9-7 victory to secure the sweep.

On the singles court, the Panthers proved equally dominant and did not drop a set en route to winning the six matches. Litvinchuk and Justin Vijungco each recorded 8-0 pro set victories, while the toughest victory for Adelphi came at second flight singles. Brewer and Sebastian Zapata were even for most of the match, but it was Zapata who came out the victor, 6-4, 6-4.

Coach's Thoughts on the Match
"This was a great match today as we closed out the season on a good note," Head Coach Michael Misiti stated. "This will hopefully start some positive momentum into the playoffs."
