Queens, N.Y. - The Adelphi University men's tennis team dropped a nailbiting non-league match at Queens College on Saturday, falling 5-4 after the Knights prevailed in the final deciding singles match of the day. The Panthers slide to 4-2 overall and Queens improves to 2-1.
Fifth-flight singles proved to be the deciding factor in the contest and saw Adelphi's
Boris Tiberkov square off against former Panther Alexander Morris, who took the win 6-2, 3-6, 6-4.
Bryan Kallenberg,
Alan Chocron and
Chiwete Njokanma all secured victories in singles action to split solo play at three matches per side. The Knights took two of three doubles matches, however, with Njokanma and Tiberkov winning 8-5 at No. 3 singles for Adelphi's lone partner win.
The Panthers return to action on Monday when they kick off their Florida trip against Northwood University.
