Dent was named World Series MVP in 1978 after hitting .417 and helping the Yankees over the Los Angeles Dodgers, 4-2. He was also given the Babe Ruth Award in 1978, sa the Major League Baseball player with the most outstanding performance in the post season.

Randall, a longtime New York correspondent for ESPN Radio, will interview Dent about his career as part of the events “Panther Stage”. Randall is also a regular contributor on ESPN Classic's anthology shows and hosts the Sunday morning radio program Ed Randall's Talking Baseball, which airs on New York's WFAN-AM and nationally on Sirius XM Radio's MLB Home Plate channel.

The event is $60 and includes dinner and drinks. Panther Club members are $50. Tickets are limited and are on a first-come, first-serve basis. Tables of 10 are also available for purchase at a cost of $600/table.

This is Adelphi's fifth year of hosting the friend and fund-raising event for the Athletics Department. Previous special guests have included Hall of Famer Rick “Goose” Gossage, Cy Young Award Winner David Cone, former Major League Baseball player and manager, Willie Randolph, St. John's University's Lou Carnesecca and WNBA President Donna Orender.

The Panther Club is Adelphi University's primary organization for providing direct support to all men's and women's athletic programs. The Clubs' goals are simple: to generate support that is needed by our teams to be regionally and nationally competitive; to provide a focal point for students, faculty, staff, administrators, parents, and the community to rally around; and to create an "esprit de corps" between members.
