Box Score
Garden City, N.Y. – The Adelphi University women's basketball team put on a dominating display to dispatch Concordia College (N.Y.) 72-49 in a non-conference contest at the Center for Recreation and Sports on Friday night. With the win, the Panthers run their overall record to 6-3 while the Clippers fall to 2-11.

The Panthers were led by a double-double from Jessica Kitrys, who scored 15 points and pulled down 11 boards. Kelly Mannix fell one rebound short of a double-double with nine total but added 18 points to lead all scorers. Melanie O'Brien added 10 points off the bench and Sade Jackson once again paced the offense with nine assists. For Concordia, Krystina Agard and Sade Jones each scored 12 points.

The Panthers dominated from the tip-off and opened the game on a 12-0 run, capped by a three-pointer from Mannix and a bucket from Kitrys. The Adelphi hot streak continued early, and the Panthers ran their lead to 15 points courtesy of a layup from Kitrys. The Clippers scored their first field goal at the 12:00 mark and used a 7-0 run to pull to 19-10. A three from Lauren Nuss with 9:33 remaining restored the Panthers' double-digit advantage.

A two-minute scoring drought for both teams was followed by an 8-1 Panther spurt, which began with consecutive layups from Jackson and Mannix and ended with a pair of free throws from Kitrys. Both squads would score eight points over the final 5:30 and the Panthers took a 38-19 lead into halftime.

Despite being outscored 7-4 over the first three minutes of the second half, another three from Nuss put the Panthers up 45-26 just under the 17-minute mark. Mannix then proceeded to make three consecutive buckets for seven total points to give the Brown and Gold a 52-26 lead.

The Clippers put together a 16-5 scoring run over five minutes to cut the Panthers lead to 16, but Melanie O'Brien converted on a three-point play and a jump shot to put the Panthers back up by 21, 62-41. The Panthers would ice the game with an 11-0 run, which featured buckets from Melanie O'Brien, Samantha Milhaven and Kristen O'Brien.

The Panthers will return to action in their last game of the 2012 calendar year when they travel to St. Petersburg, Fla., on Sunday, December 30, for a non-conference meeting with Eckerd College. Tipoff is scheduled for 2 p.m.
