7/1/2026 3:00:00 PM

Garden City, N.Y. - Head women's basketball coach Sade Jackson is pleased to announce the return of Zhaneia Thybulle as an assistant coach, effective ahead of the 2026-27 season.

"I am excited to have Coach Z back with us," commented Jackson. "She's played a pivotal role in previous years and her leadership and commitment has made a lasting impact. Z's passion for player development and her ability to build meaningful relationships will have an impact on our program immediately."

Thybulle, who's first stint with Adelphi spanned two seasons, comes back to Garden City following one season on the sidelines in 2025-26 for her alma Mater, Division I Wagner College.

"Sade has believed in and invested in me long before my time at Adelphi," said Thybulle."I'm grateful for the opportunity to return to her staff and be part of Adelphi's special community. I'm excited to continue help with he growth and success of the program."

The Seahawks season ended with an appearance in the NEC tournament, with a 9-9 mark in conference play.

Thybulle returns to a Panther squad that boasts the 2025-26 Northeast 10 Defensive Player of the Year and Sport Excellence award winner in Lauren Beberman and a roster that returns all but two players from last season.

From 2023-2025, 'Z' implemented a new defensive system that elevated the team's scoring defense ranking from eighth to third in the NE10 and installed a baseline-out-of-bounds package that increased scoring by an average of eight points per game. In her time, she also directed all individual player development sessions, leading to measurable improvements in returning players' field-goal and three-point percentages. In addition, she managed team travel schedules, organized practices, maintained video and statistical databases, and filed detailed scouting reports to support athlete development and recruiting evaluations.

Jackson, Thybulle and the rest of the squad will look to build on a 13-13 season with an appearance in the NE10 conference tournanment, starting this November.
