North Attleboro, Mass. — In his first-ever match as an Adelphi Panther, men's tennis player Jorge Alcalde Miragaya made quite the impression as he was named the NE10 Rookie of the Week, as announced by the league office on Tuesday afternoon.

The freshman from Madrid, along with fellow first-year Pau Valles, was victorious in Saturday's No. 3 doubles match against Franklin Pierce, 6-2, en route to the Panthers' first victory of the 2026-27 season.

The Adelphi men's tennis team will return to the court on Saturday when it travels to Saint Michael's College for a 2 p.m. start.
