North Attleboro, Mass. - Adelphi University field hockey's Jody Van Aardt and Olivia Docyk were each recognized with weekly honors by the Northeast 10, as announced by the conference Monday afternoon. Van Aardt was named the NE10 Player of the Week, while Docyk earned NE10 Defensive Player of the Week honors.
Van Aardt put together a career week for the Panthers, totaling four goals and two assists for 10 points while helping the Brown and Gold secure back-to-back victories over Mercy University and Dominican University.
The sophomore opened the week with three points in Adelphi's 10-1 victory over Mercy on Wednesday (Sept. 16), finding the back of the cage for her first goal of the season while adding an assist.
Van Aardt followed with a career performance in Saturday's 8-0 victory over Dominican at Motamed Field. The Plettenberg Bay, South Africa native recorded her first career hat trick and added an assist to finish with a career-high seven points.
The midfielder scored three of Adelphi's first five goals against Dominican, including the game's opening tally, as the Panthers rolled to their second consecutive victory.
On the defensive end, Docyk helped anchor an Adelphi unit that surrendered just one goal across the two victories. The Panthers limited Mercy and Dominican to a combined seven shots, five shots on goal and three penalty corners while outscoring the opposition 18-1.
The senior started both contests for the Brown and Gold and played a key role in Adelphi's first shutout of the season against Dominican. Docyk recorded a defensive save in the victory as the Panthers held the Chargers to just three total shots, two shots on goal and one penalty corner.
The honor marks the second NE10 Defensive Player of the Week selection of Docyk's career after the Carle Place, N.Y. native also received the award during the 2025 season.
Van Aardt, Docyk and the Panthers return to action on Wednesday (Sept. 23), when they travel to face Southern Connecticut State University.
