North Attleboro, Mass. – The Northeast 10 Conference announced the winners of the annual Sport Excellence Award for the spring season on Tuesday afternoon, and Adelphi University had five Panthers honored. Men's golf's Mitchell Archer, women's tennis's Katarina Liedbeck, men's lacrosse's Kyle Lewis, men's tennis's Louca Bertone and women's lacrosse's Alexandra Leggio were recognized for their accomplishments in both the classroom and on the field of play. Liedbeck, Lewis, Bertone and Leggio were all recognized as NE10 Players of the Year.

Among the student-athletes who were named to the NE10 All-Academic Team, the Sport Excellence Award is given to one top individual from each of the league's seven spring sports. Bertone marks the fourth straight Adelphi men's tennis athlete to win the sport's Sport Excellence Award, with Marko Jovanovic winning the previous three, while Liedbeck is a repeat winner, the first to do so for Adelphi women's tennis since Barbie Quagliardi in 2020-21 and 2021-22. Lewis and Archer are the first Panthers to win the award for their respective sports since 2023-24, and Leggio is the first Adelphi women's lacrosse player to be honored since 2020-21.

Boasting a 3.68 grade-point average while pursuing a degree in management, Archer put together quite the year for the Adelphi men's golf team. The sophomore was named First Team All-NE10 and made the PING All-East Region Team while earning an individual title at the Penmen Season Finale and leading his squad to the No. 1 overall seed in the NCAA East Regional.

Liedbeck wrapped up her final season in Brown and Gold with a stellar year, earning a 3.98 GPA in computer science. The Bastad, Sweden native earned three major NE10 awards, won the ITA East Regional doubles title with Roisin Boyd and led the women's tennis team to its first-ever trip to the NCAA Sweet Sixteen. Among other honors, Liedbeck was named Adelphi's Female Scholar-Athlete of the Year and a First Team CSC Academic All-American.

Lewis finishes his career in an Adelphi uniform as one of the most decorated players in program history. The senior was named the NE10 Player of the Year while also earning All-America honors from three different publications. Scoring 35 goals and accumulating 63 points in his senior season, Lewis helped lead the Panthers to their third straight national championship game.

Bertone had a breakout season in 2025-26 as Adelphi's No. 1 singles player. Earning a 4.0 GPA in graduate studies, the French native was named the conference's Player of the Year, a CSC First Team Academic All-American and put together a 14-5 record, leading Adelphi to back-to-back NE10 titles.

Leggio caps off her career in an Adelphi uniform with plenty of hardware. Leading the conference in points with 101 (54 goals, 47 assists), the senior was named the NE10 Attacker of the Year, an IWLCA First Team All-Region selection and a USILA First Team All-American. In the classroom, Leggio turned in a 3.78 GPA while majoring in nursing.

To be eligible for Academic All-Conference and Sport Excellence honors, a student-athlete must have started at least half or played in two-thirds of all contests while making significant contributions and maintaining a 3.3 grade-point average on a 4.0 scale.
