Garden City, N.Y. — After a successful 2026 campaign that saw the Adelphi baseball team finish just one win away from the Northeast 10 title game, the awards continue to roll in for its star players.
Named the Northeast 10 Pitcher of the Year just a week ago, John Carver has been tapped as the D2CCA East Region Pitcher of the Year. Johnny Catuosco was named Second Team All-Region.
Carver, who was also named First Team All-Region, finished his final collegiate campaign with a 2.67 ERA and led the NE10 in strikeouts with 92 in 57.1 innings pitched, while also leading the conference in batting average against (.186). The Lynbrook, N.Y., native ranked top five in the conference in wins (eight) and ERA. Nationally, Carver ranked first in Division II in strikeouts per nine innings (14.44), 10th in strikeouts and 24th in ERA. He is the second Panther in a row to be named D2CCA East Region Pitcher of the Year, following teammate Dawson Montesa.
Catuosco had a fantastic final year in Brown and Gold, setting career highs in nearly every major statistical category. He ranked third in the NE10 in batting average, hitting a career-best .409. The graduate student led the team in hits (76), doubles (14), at-bats (186) and OPS (1.004), while ranking second in on-base percentage (.488) and runs batted in (40). Catuosco also posted a perfect 1.000 fielding percentage with 106 putouts while serving as the Panthers' center fielder.
