Glen Cove, N.Y. - Adelphi's men's golf program finished 13th at The Shark Invitational on Tuesday afternoon.
Competing in a field that featured numerous Division I teams, the Panthers battled through a challenging course, finishing at 53-over, six shots behind Siena and nine strokes ahead of Hartford.
Francis Lanuza posted the highest finish for the Panthers after shooting 11-over for the tournament. The senior improved upon his opening-round score of 75 by carding rounds of 73 in each of the final two rounds. Over the course of the tournament, he recorded eight birdies.
The next-highest finisher for the Cats was Ike Rothman, as the freshman shot 12-over at Nassau Country Club. His tournament featured a 78 in round one, a team-best 70 in round two and a 74 in the final round. Rothman eagled twice during his 54 holes of play and also added five birdies.
Mitchell Archer finished at 17-over, while Johnny Solari and Ahaan Dhir both ended the tournament at 18-over. Zeus Sara rounded out the scoring at 19-over.
Also competing for the Panthers was Domenick Caponi, who finished at 20-over across his three rounds.
Head coach David Mattana and the Panthers return to action on Thursday, April 16, when they compete in the FSC Bethpage Black Invitational at the Black Course at Bethpage State Park.
