North Attleboro, Mass. - Following another undefeated week for the Adelphi University men's and women's lacrosse programs, a pair of defenders have earned the title of Northeast 10 Defensive Player of the Week, announced on Monday.

Sonny Lionetti was an anchor on defense for Adelphi as the team went 2-0, and helped hold opponents to a combined nine goals. Against Molloy, she was responsible for three draw control wins and also caused a pair of turnovers. In NE10 play, she matched her career-best mark of six caused turnovers - finishing with eight in the week - while also scooping up six ground balls.

Bower totaled six caused turnovers and seven ground balls, as the Cats took down Molloy University and Assumption University. In non-league action against the Lions, he went off for five caused turnovers and scooped up four ground balls, while helping keep the Lions in single digit scoring.

The men's team will hit the road for a highly anticipated matchup with Pace University on Tuesday, who moved down five spots in the USILA rankings (from #5 to #9) after a loss to Bentley University last week. Opening faceoff is set for 7:00 p.m.

Lionetti and the women's squad will be home again on Wednesday, April 15 when they take on Mercy University in non-conference action. The game is set to start at 7:00 p.m. on Motamed Field. The Panthers shifted up one spot in this week's IWLCA rankings, from 13 to 12 as the Mavericks stuck at the no. 18 spot.
