North Attleboro, Mass. - Following a pair of wins, the - now - no. 13 Adelphi University women's lacrosse program picked up a pair of weekly honors, in
Alexandra Leggio and
Jillian McFadden as the Northeast 10 Player and Goalkeeper of the Week, respectively.
Leggio was the team-leader in points for a 2-0 week at Adelphi. Her season-high eight points against No. 12 Pace was courtesy of four goals and four helpers, as she stepped up in a big way on attack to help the Panthers to a dominant 18-8 win. The senior added another five points against Saint Michael's after netting a hat trick and adding two assists. Overall on the week, she scored 13 points - including seven goals on 13 shots.
McFadden posted a .615 save percentage combined against No. 12 Pace and Saint Michael's. She was responsible for only allowing eight goals to the Setters, who are averaging 13 goals per game this season. The senior netminder collected a career-high 16 saves to steal the win and improve the Panthers to 5-0 in league play. Overall this week, she had 24 saves across two games and allowed only 15 goals.
This week the team heads to Saint Anselm College (Mar. 31) and Assumption (Apr. 4) as they look to remain undefeated in league play. The Hawks check in at no. 22 this week after sitting just outside the top-20 a week ago.
