North Attleboro, Mass. — The Northeast 10 weekly awards keep rolling in for the Adelphi tennis teams, as Andrea Albiero and Roisin Boyd were named the conference's Players of the Week, the league announced on Tuesday morning.
This marks the first weekly honor of the season for Albiero and the third for Boyd.
Albiero impressed in the Panthers' win over Franklin Pierce on Sunday, earning a 6–3, 6–3 victory at No. 3 singles and a 6–3 win at No. 1 doubles with Viktor Hockl. The sophomore is now 9-1 this year in singles play and 8-2 when paired with Hockl.
Boyd and Katarina Liedbeck, the No. 8-ranked doubles team in the country, won their match, 6–4, before Boyd dominated her No. 3 singles flight, 6–0, 6–0. The Leicester, U.K. native moves to 11-2 in singles play and 10-3 when playing with Liedbeck.
The Adelphi tennis teams return to action on March 28 and 29, when the women take on Saint Anselm on the 28th and the men host Division III Baruch on the 29th.
