2/22/2026 8:00:00 AM

Boston, Mass. - Finishing one spot lower than projected in the pre-championship poll, the Adelphi University women's track and field team placed fifth at the 2026 Northeast 10 Conference Indoor Track and Field Championship, held at the Track at New Balance.

"Even though we have a young team, our group handled themselves with grit and resilience and really stepped up to manage nerves and compete hard," commented Head Coach Katie Rees. "We were the only school to have all three women's relays on the podium, we had scorers across all event areas, loads of women bring their best and making finals by PRing when it counted most. We couldn't be prouder of them. "

Podium Finishes:
  • Continuing their podium streak, the women's 4x400 relay clocked in at 4:00.85 to win silver, made up by Valencia Beaubrun, Eva Gonzalez, Brianna McGowan and Marissa Haye
  • Eva Gonzalez finished the women's 800 race in third in a time of 2:20.44 after placing fourth in the prelims. She improved her place from a season ago, where she placed 9th in a time of  2:25.31.
  • Another relay reached the medal presentation as the 4x800 quartet of Sade Davis, Joanna Weber, Krystal Patel and Isabella Baloun clocked in at 10:01.30 to pick up bronze.
  • Additionally, the Distance Medley Relay squad of Patel, Weber, Davis and Caleigh Hopkins toughed out a 13:15.85 race that saw them finish third in the field.
  • Earning her first medal at indoor championships, Gabrielle Stafford cleared 1.55 on her second attempt to take third in the high jump.
  • Also placing third, Shareve Blair landed a 5.21m attempt in the long jump to reach the podium.
The women's squad will now prepare for the outdoor season, set to begin on Friday, March 27 at the Ramapo Season Opener.
