Boston, Mass. - With the help of eight podium finishes, the Adelphi University men's track and field program put together their best ever program finish as Runner-up of the 2026 Northeast 10 Indoor Track and Field Championship, held at the Track at New Balance.
Jabari Holder was tabbed the Most Outstanding Field Performer and was one of three athletes to earn a share of the overall Men's Most Valuable Performer award.
"This year we have a really well-rounded team, with potential scorers and podium finishers in every events area, and those guys really stepped up and did their job," said Head Coach
Katie Rees. "We had PR performances where we needed them to score, we had a ton of guys finish higher than they were ranked coming in, and every event area contributed to the point-total. This might be the most well-rounded team we have ever had, and it really showed."
Podium Finishes:
- Holder was the lone gold medalist for the Cats, picking up his first medal in the long jump with a distance of 7.09m and then the triple jump with a 14.24m leap.
- Newcomer Evan Weber posted his first ever podium finish in a Panther uniform, clocking in at 6.93 in the 60 meter dash to earn silver. He won his heat of the prelims with a time of 6.90.
- In an exciting race finish, Deven Bernardin and Jack Coyne held on for a 2-3 punch in the men's 800, finishing within .18 seconds of each other for their first indoor podium medals in the specialty. Last season, Bernardin finished 14th and Coyne did not compete in the finals race.
- David Williams landed back on the podium for his performance in the 60 hurdles, this time in second in a time of 8.17 seconds.
- The Distance Medley Relay crew of Jack Riegger, Daniel Carsey, Coyne and Krapf clocked in at 10:33.37 to return the Panthers to the podium as they picked up a silver medal.
- Earning third place for the first time in his career was sophomore Ryan Moritz, as he threw a 14.95m attempt in the shot put, which is also a new personal best.
Other Highlights:
- Max Krapf and Chris Leonard finished fourth and sixth, respectively in the men's mile to earn points for their squad, using times of 4:16.95 and 4:22.86, respectively.
