Mansfield, Mass. — Adelphi University's Johnny Solari has been named the Northeast 10 Player of the Week for men's golf, as announced Wednesday by the conference.

Solari led the way for the Panthers this past Monday and Tuesday at the Granite State Opener, helping the team capture the overall championship. The senior shot nine-under par for the tournament, earning him co-champion honors.

During his three rounds of play, Solari's game reached new heights as he posted a career best on day two, shooting a seven-under par 65. His standout performance included an eagle on the par-five 10th hole, which measured 541 yards. He continued his hot streak on the back nine, tallying four birdies over the final eight holes of the round.

The Warwick, N.Y. native shot a consistent one-under par in each of days one and three. His final trip through the course featured four birdies. Coming down the stretch, he showed poise and mental toughness, parring each of his final six holes en route to the co-victory.

Solari and the Panthers return to action on Sept. 29, as they travel to Johnstown, Pa., to compete in the Sunnehanna Intercollegiate, which will conclude on Tuesday, Sept. 30.
