Mansfield, Mass. — The Adelphi women's soccer team had a successful weekend, going 2-0 with victories over Holy Family and Southern Connecticut State with the latest Northeast 10 player of the year
Kayleigh Goodrich playing a huge role. On Tuesday afternoon, after already being named the NE10 player of the week, the junior was recognized nationally, being named the D2CIDA National Player of the Week.
In two games, Goodrich recorded 12 points, scoring five goals and tallying two assists. The Hicksville native potted the first hat trick of her career against Holy Family and followed that up with a masterful two goal performance, that included the game-winner, in the Panther win over SCSU. She currently is in a tie for most goals scored in the country with six and leads teh conference in shots on goal (eighteen) and points (fourteen).
Goodrich and the Panthers return to the field this afternoon at 4:00 PM when they host St. Thomas Aquinas.
