Gettysburg, Pa. – In its first action of the season, Adelphi's women's golf team placed second, marking the second consecutive year they have finished as runners-up at the West Chester University Battlefield Classic. The tournament took place this past Monday and Tuesday, with Adelphi's Nikola Truhlarova leading the way by finishing second on the individual leaderboard.

Truhlarova, competing in her very first collegiate tournament, finished just one shot behind first place. The Czech native ended the event at 6-over par. On day one, she carded a 5-over-par 77, highlighted by a stellar front nine that included two birdies, before encountering some challenges on the back nine. On day two, she navigated the course efficiently, shooting a 2-over-par 74 and found more success on the back nine.

As a team, the Panthers finished at 69-over-par (645) and totaled 13 birdies. They ended the tournament 30 strokes behind West Chester's A team, but 19 strokes ahead of third place (West Chester B).

Filippa Schulze Doering, the team's most valuable player last season, finished in seventh place with a 14-over-par (157). After a tough first round—which did include a spectacular eagle on hole 13—she bounced back on day two with a 3-over-par 75, earning a top-10 finish.

Jenny Kim and Ivory Drusch also placed in the top 20. Kim finished at 24-over-par (168), while Drusch closed at 25-over (169).

Rounding out the scoring for the brown and gold was Adaline Ochoa, the sophomore finished 43-over, good enough to finish in the top 30 overall.

The story of the tournament for the Cats was improvement on day two as it helped the team secure a comfortable second-place finish.

Coach Bill Bresnan and the Panthers will return to action at the Millersville University Women's Fall Classic, taking place Monday, Sept. 15 through Tuesday, Sept. 16 at Berkleigh Golf Club in Kutztown, Pa.
