Gilbert, AZ – The Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) has announced its 2025 Division II Men's and Women's Scholar-Athletes and All-Academic Teams, with the Adelphi University programs once again earning top academic recognition.
Both teams were named ITA All-Academic Teams for the sixth consecutive year, continuing their tradition of excellence in the classroom.
In addition to team accolades, head coach Rebecca Fakas proudly celebrates 18 student-athletes who were named ITA Scholar-Athletes, surpassing last year's total of 15 honorees. The distinction requires a minimum GPA of 3.5 (on a 4.0 scale) for the academic year, a testament to the players' academic commitment.
To qualify as an ITA All-Academic Team, programs must achieve a team GPA of 3.2 or higher. Adelphi's Tennis teams led all varsity programs at the university, with the men posting a 3.831 GPA and the women recording a 3.837 GPA.
The student-athletes recognized were: Andrea Albiero, Louca Bertone, Elouan Boyer, Reece Farrow, Viktor Hockl, Matias Hoyos, Marko Jovanovic, Hugo Munoz Reinoso, Rodrigo Ochoa, Spyridon Papageorgiou, Casey Recci, and Yannick Stolz from the men's team; and Ada Amarghioalei, Genesis Beltran, Roisin Boyd, Caterina Federici, Katarina Liedbeck, and Sara Lindeman from the women's team.
Both teams reached the Northeast 10 Championship this past season, with the men capturing the title for the second straight year. Leading the charge was Marko Jovanovic, a three-time NE10 Player of the Year, who was also named to the 2025 CSC All-America First Team.
He was joined by Hugo Munoz Reinoso and Katarina Liedbeck as CSC All-Americans, with Liedbeck and Jovanovic each earning near-perfect 3.98 GPAs.
