Track & Field Named to USTFCCCA All-Academic Teams; Amari Johnson Earns Individual Honors

NEW ORLEANS, LA – The U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) announced its 2025 NCAA Division II Track & Field All-Academic Teams on Monday, with both the Adelphi University men's and women's squads earning distinction for their achievements in the classroom.

To qualify for the honor, programs must maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher (on a 4.0 scale) among all student-athletes listed on their institution's NCAA Squad List for the indoor and/or outdoor seasons, as certified by the registrar.

The Adelphi women's team posted an impressive 3.545 team GPA, placing them among the top 50 academic programs in Division II. The men's team recorded a 3.281 team GPA, placing them just outside the top 50 nationally.

In addition to the team honors, Amari Johnson was recognized as a USTFCCCA All-Academic Athlete, thanks to her 3.65 GPA as a nursing major. On the track, Johnson had a standout indoor season with first-place finishes in the 60-meter hurdles at both the NYU DIII Invitational and the NE10 Indoor Track & Field Championship.

She continued her success outdoors with two more podium finishes in the 100-meter hurdles, which included a bronze medal in at the NE10 Outdoor Track & Field Championships. Additionally, the North Carolina native helped the women's 4x100 relay earn points with a fourth-placed showing.
