Mansfield, Mass. - As the program wins a major award for the second consecutive year, Adelphi University women's golf head coach
Bill Bresnan has been named Northeast-10 Coach of the Year, while freshman
Ivory Drusch was tabbed as Co-Rookie of the Year, announced by the conference on Thursday afternoon.
Bresnan's recognition comes as the Brown and Gold won both tournaments hosted by Saint Anselm College this past year, both in the fall and spring. In addition, the team finished third at the 2024 NE10 Championships, tallying a total score of 69-over 645. Four runner-up finishes can also be added to his resume, stretching from the WCU Battlefield Classic to start the fall to the Hartford Spring Invitational to close out the school year.
Drusch was named Co-Rookie of the Year as she made a huge impact on the program right away. Finishing tenth to start her career at the Battlefield Classic, she later tied for seventh at the NE10 Championships to finish at the top of the team's scoring. The White Bear Lake, Minn. native also netted three more top four finishes to round out her first season as a Panther.
Filippa Schulze Doering follows up her 2023-24 Rookie of the Year campaign by notching her first All-Conference honor, joining the first team. Hailing from Rabat, Malta, the sophomore won two individual championships at the Hawk Invitational in the fall, and the Hartford Spring Invitational to end the season. In addition, she tied for first at the Battle at Bull's Bridge to establish herself as the squad's top performer.
"Filippa had a great year, being named to First Team All-Conference is more than well deserved," commented Bresnan.
