Mansfield, Mass. — The Adelphi men's tennis team is currently on the hunt for back-to-back Northeast-10 titles but before that journey can begin on Saturday, the league recognized a handful of Panthers as being some of the best in the conference.

For the third year in a row, Marko Jovanovic was named the Vern Cox NE10 Player of the Year. The Belgrade, Serbia native was also named a first team all-conference selection at the #1 singles position and has been phenomenal all season. Jovanovic has accumulated at 17-4 singles record and is undefeated in conference play, winning all nine of his singles matches. He is currently riding a 10 match win streak into the NE10 Championship. The senior is the first Panther to threepeat as player of the year and the fourth player to do so since the award was first given out in 1989.

Freshman Andrea Albiero was Adelphi's second major award winner, earning the conference's Rookie of the Year honor. While also being a first team selection for the #3 singles spot and being named to the all-rookie team, the Vicenza, Italy native went 7-6 this season but holds a perfect 5-0 conference record. In NE10 play Albiero has only dropped two sets all year.

Rounding out the conference honors were Spyridon Papageorgiou, Rodrigo Ochoa and Louca Bertone

Papageorgiou was named first team #4 singles and to the all-rookie team thanks to his 11-3 record and impeccable 6-0 standing in conference play. In 2025, he took home three rookie of the week selections.

Ochoa was the final first team selection for the Panthers, being named the first team #5 singles player after recording a 10-5 record, 6-1 in the NE10 and is currently red hot, winning four matches in a row.

Bertone rounded out the awards for Adelphi, being named to the NE10 second-team for the #2 singles spot in his first season as a Panther. He earned a 9-5 singles record, 4-2 NE10 and picked up a key win over Bentley.

Head coach Rebecca Fakas and the Panthers will be on the court on Saturday at 11:00 AM to face Assumptions in the NE10 semifinals at the USTA Tennis Center in Flushing, N.Y.
