Austin, TX - The recognition continues to pour in for sophomore Ryan Kakimseit, who adds College Sports Communicators Academic All-American Second Team honors to his resume, announced Wednesday. 

Kakimseit, a 3.85 GPA Marketing Major, has begun his career on track for one of the best in Northeast-10 history.  The New York native repeated as the league's Swimmer of the Year, keeping him on pace to potentially become the first student-athlete to claim that honor four times. He's won 13 NE10 Championships in two seasons with the only medals he's racked up being made of gold.

In addition to NE10 major award honors, he was also recently named the sport's Sport Excellence Award Winner - voted on by a committee that encompasses academic and pool success as one. He is just the second Adelphi swimmer to be named a CSC Academic All-American, joining teammate Cooper Rivers, who was the first to earn the honor last season. 

Kakimseit is one of 32 swimming and diving student-athletes from across Division II named an Academic All-American.  He was one of nine to be named to the Second Team and one of only eight sophomores to appear on the list in DII.
