O'Connell Earns Second Team All-Conference Honors, Robinson Featured on All-Defensive Team

3/5/2025 2:00:00 PM

Mansfield, Mass. - For the first time in both of their careers, Kaitlyn O'Connell and Rolanda Robinson have nabbed Northeast-10 All-Conference honors. O'Connell was slated on the second team, while Robinson was given all-defensive recognition.

The two seniors have now lifted the Panthers to an NE10 Tournament semifinal. O'Connell's 12.3 points per game and conference-leading 83 three-point field goals spurred the offense, while Robinson found herself in first place across the conference with 69 steals.

O'Connell has picked up her play when it matters most for the Brown and Gold, scoring 12 or more points in eight of her last 11 contests. In addition, the Massachusetts native compiled both a 30 (career-high) and 27 point performance within the last two months. In 10 of her last 14 outings, she's also managed to knock down two or more shots from beyond the arc.

Two memorable moments from across the season include winning her first career Northeast-10 Player of the Week Award on November 25. Roughly three months later, she'd break the Adelphi single-season record for three-point field goals in a first round playoff matchup against American International.

O'Connell becomes the first Panther to be named to an all-conference team since Ty'zhea Hawkins was bestowed first team honors in 2023.

Robinson's 69 swipes were the primary contributor to her defensive showcase in 2024-25. Not to be limited to one tool, the Brooklyn native also led the 'Cats in rebounding, with 147 of them coming on the defensive end. Her ten blocks stood good enough for third on the team, only trailing Lauren Beberman and Gamila Betton.

Head Coach Sade Jackson and Adelphi will be back in action tomorrow (Mar. 6) in the NE10 semifinals when they travel to No. 6 seed Assumption University. Game time from Worcester, Mass. is scheduled for 5:30 p.m.
