NE10 Coaches Poll Released for Outdoor Track and Field

3/26/2025 10:11:00 AM

Mansfield, Mass – With spring weather approaching, the Adelphi University men's and women's track and field programs have both been selected to finish fifth at the outdoor championships this May, according to the Coaches Poll released by the conference on Thursday.

Southern Connecticut sits atop of the poll on both the men's and women's side, each nearly receiving the maximum number of first place votes. To see the full poll results, see below.

The Panther men are fresh off of a fourth place showing at the indoor championships, and are returning all three individual medalists and six out of eight relay medalist members from a year ago. Leading the way for the men is the reigning Indoor Track Athlete of the Year David Williams, who finished second in the 110-meter high hurdles last outdoor season. His teammate, Bryan Combary finished right behind him collecting bronze in the same race. Rounding out the returning medalist from a year ago is Matthew Wenz, who won decathlon gold.

The women, who placed fifth at the indoor championships, are returning two individual medalists. Amari Johnson will aim to win her third straight hurdle title, winning the 100 meter hurdles last outdoor and most recently the 60 meter title last month. Not to be out done, Lucia Kutner will aim to stay on the podium in the 3,000 meter steeplechase after earning bronze a year ago.

The 2025 Outdoor Track and Field schedule kicks off this weekend, with the two-day championship set to commence at Southern New Hampshire University on May 2 and 3. Adelphi will open its season as a split squad, attending both the Ramapo Invite and Monmouth Opener starting on Friday, Mar. 28.
