Mansfield, Mass. - Adelphi track and field athlete
David Williams has been named the Northeast-10 Conference Male Indoor Track Athlete of the Year, announced by the league office on Tuesday.
For the first time in program history, an Adelphi athlete wins this award on the men's side, after
Katherine Marsh was the most recent winner for the women's program.
A gold medalist in the 60 hurdles at the 2025 NE10 Indoor Championship, he posted a time of 8.12 in the prelim race - both an NCAA qualifying mark and a personal best in the specialty. A primary hurdler for the Panthers this season, he dabbled with the 60 meter dash and 200 events throughout the season - but raced to a first place finish in his marquee event.
The junior from Farmingdale, N.Y. earned a silver medal at last year's championship and set a program record, which he improved upon this season with a .03 second drop.
As the season turns to outdoor, he will look to do the same in the 110 hurdles event, in which he took silver in the finals in a time of 14.24.
Adelphi begins its outdoor campaign as a split squad on Mar. 28 at the Ramapo Opener and Monmouth Season Opener.
