North Attleboro, Mass. - Following the first weekend of the indoor track and field season, junior
David Williams has garned Northeast 10 Track Athlete of the Week honors, announced on Tuesday.
Williams posted a top-10 time in the men's 60 hurdles event, winning the race at the Fastrack Season Opener last Friday. With a 7.99 in the finals, he captured third place with his first time ever breaking the eight second threshold. In addition, the mark appears as the sixth fastest time in NCAA Division II after the opening weekend of action.
Lastly, the 7.99 is a new career best for the junior and sets a new Adelphi record. This erases his time of 8.12 that he set at the 2025 Indoor NE10 Championship in February.
The track and field program returns to action on Friday, Dec. 12 when they head to Southern Connecticut to compete at the Art Kadish Elm City Challenge. The event spans two days and will take place in the Owls' James Moore Field House.
