South Kent, Conn. – Filippa Schulze Doering finished as the individual champion, leading the Adelphi University women's golf team to a second-place finish at the Battle of Bull's Bridge on Tuesday afternoon.
As a team, the Panthers finished 35-over par, just five strokes behind first-place Laval University, with four golfers placing in the top 10 and all six participants finishing in the top 25.
Leading the way was Schulze Doering, who shot a one-over (73) to claim the individual title. She dominated the golf course, recording six birdies in her round. The former NE10 rookie of the year came through in the clutch, tallying three birdies on the back nine, including on holes 16 and 18.
Just a few spots behind, Ivory Drusch and Jenny Kim each tied for fifth place, both carding 11-over-par 83s. Drusch opened her round with a birdie on hole one and added two more on the back nine (holes 13 and 17). Kim navigated the course efficiently and notched a birdie on hole six.
Nikola Truhlarova followed right behind in eighth place, as the freshman shot a 12-over (84), making par on nine holes.
Lauren Jaskier finished in 15th place, with the junior carding a 17-over (89), highlighted by seven pars.
Adaline Ochoa rounded out the scoring for the Brown and Gold, finishing 23rd overall with a 22-over-par performance, which included six pars.
Head coach Bill Bresnan and the Panthers return to action on Monday, Oct. 20, as they travel to Manchester, N.H. to compete in the Saint Anselm Fall Invitational, hosted by Derryfield Country Club. The tournament concludes on Tuesday, Oct. 21.
