Colorado Springs, Colo. – For the first time in 2025, the Adelphi University field hockey team appears in weekly Penn Monto/National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) Coaches Poll, checking in at no. 10, released Tuesday morning.
The rankings are voted on by designated NFHCA member coaches from each conference.
In week five of the poll (including preseason), the Panthers make headlines as the only change in the rankings, with spots 1 through 9 remaining the same. Adelphi enters the top 10, debuting at the No. 10 position.
To be eligible for the rankings, teams must meet the following criteria: after two weeks of regular season play, teams must maintain a record of .500 or better to qualify for consideration each week.
After starting the season 1–3, the Panthers have caught fire, riding a five-game winning streak—all in conference play. The Brown and Gold are now tied for first place in the Northeast 10 Conference (NE10) with Bentley. Following a 1–0 win over reigning national champions Saint Anselm University, Adelphi has cracked the national top 10.
Adelphi's offensive surge has been led by Lana Mignon De Wet, who leads the NE10 in goals (11) and points (25). Nationally, she ranks third in total goals and goals per game (1.22). On the defensive end, Allison Gregory has been a force in net, recording three consecutive shutouts and tallying 32 saves on the season.
Head coach Jess Mulhern and the Panthers return to action on Wednesday, Oct. 8, as they travel to Southern Connecticut State University, before hosting a much-anticipated matchup with the Falcons on Saturday, Oct. 11, at 4 p.m.
