Colonia, N.J. — In what was an impressive start for the Adelphi bowling team over the weekend, finishing sixth at the NJ Open and knocking off No. 22 Felician, the accolades continue to roll in for the Panthers as freshman Marissa Funk was named the ECC Bowler of the Week on Thursday afternoon.

This is the first collegiate honor of Funk's career as she was electric in her debut. The Boardman, Ohio, native was the team's leader in total pinfall (1,035) with a 207 average and high games of 244, 234 and 220 while being named to the all-tournament team. She had an incredible 47.4% strike percentage and knocked down 90% of her single pin spares. Funk was a part of the Baker team along with Erica DeJesus, Carly Wu, Payton Hoffay and Gayle Lopez that put up a team-high score of 969 in the Panthers' win over Dominican on Saturday.

The Adelphi bowling team will be back on the lanes on Saturday, Nov. 1, when they participate in the Kutztown hosted Golden Bear Invite in Sinking Spring, Pa.
