Bowling Earns Fourth Place Finish At Golden Bear Invite

Sinking Spring, Pa. —  Coming off a promising start to the season at the NJ Open, the Adelphi bowling team was back on the lanes over the weekend for the Kutztown hosted Golden Bear Invite.

On day one of traditional play, the Panthers were undefeated, earning wins over Caldwell, No. 23 ranked Delaware State, Chestnut Hill and Wilmington (Del.) In baker play, Adelphi defeated Alvernia 942-860.

Marissa Funk and Erica DeJesus starred for the Panthers, both finishing in the top ten of individual play. Funk finished seventh overall, averaging 18.82 pins per frame with a 79.6% overall fill percentage. The freshman had an impressove 92.3% single pin spare percentage and converted on both of the splits shwe left in the team event.

DeJesus averaged 18.32 pins per frame with a high game of 205. She earned a 76.79% fill percentage,  and a 37.5% on strike rate while making 88.89% of her single pin spares.

Tiffany Wong finished 14th overall with Giana Giampapa 29th and Carly Wu 34th.

Head coach Arthur O'Connor and the Panthers will return on Fri, Nov. 21, for the Monmouth hosted Garden State Classic in Howell, N.J.
