North Attleboro, Mass. - For the fourth time this season, senior
Macarty McQueen has been chosen as the Northeast 10 Conference Player of the Week, announced by the league office on Monday afternoon.
Bentley's Tory Vitko and Elizabeth Blin are the only other players in the NE10 that have earned three or more weeks of recognition as Setter and Defensive Player of the Week, respectively. That duo once again earns those titles this week as well.
McQueen posted another week where she averaged 4.25 kills per set in a 2-0 week for the Panthers, as she continues to hold the top spot among NE10 athletes in total kills and kills per set.
In a five-set nail-biting win over local rival Molloy, McQueen brought her team back from down 11-14 to secure a 16-14 victory. She posted 23 kills with an impressive .447 hitting percentage - committing just two errors all match. She hit nearly .400 for the week overall, posting nearly a double-double in the second game of the week - where she chipped in 11 kills and seven digs.
Adelphi volleyball hosts Chestnut Hill College on Thursday, Oct. 23 in non-conference action before heading to Franklin Pierce on Oct. 25 for a 1:00 p.m. matchup. Thursday's contest will be part of the Adelphi Student-Athlete Advisory Committee's Roar and Rally initiative - encouraging fellow Panthers to attend home games - and it will also serve as the team's annual Dig Pink game.
