Garden City, N.Y. - With over 25 days since its last lost, the Adelphi University volleyball team suffered a four-set defeat on Saturday, falling to reigning East Region Champion Bentley University inside the Center for Recreation and Sports.
The Falcons took the opening set, but the Panthers came back in the second with an identical score to even the match at one-all.Â
It was an all-Bentley third as the home team was stifled with a 25-13 decision, committing 10 errors while the Falcons remained consistent. The final frame came down to the final points as Adelphi fought back to come within one, but the visitors sealed the deal with two of the last three points.Â
Macarty McQueen and
Madeleine Chaapel led the team with 17 and 16 kills, respectively, while Sophia Poehlein topped the Falcon stat sheet with a game-high 21.Â
Adelphi will be back on its home court on Thursday, Oct. 16 when they host Molloy in non-conference action at 7:00 p.m.
