North Attleboro, Mass. — Two wins against Queens and American International saw the Adelphi men's soccer team push their winning streak to three games. Two players,
Stephen Betz and
Ryan Holt, were vital to the Panthers' success and on Monday afternoon they were recognized with Northeast 10 weekly honors.
Betz was named the NE10 Defensive Player of the week with Holt recieving the Rookie of the Week award.
The graduate transfer from Plainview, Betz, played a crucial part in the team's two clean sheets last week as he anchored the defensive midfield. He scored the lone and game-winning goal against Queens, ripping a left footed shot across the box and past the Knights' keeper.
Holt continued to be one of Adelphi's premier offensive players this week, scoring what would be the game-winner against AIC and continually providing offensive pressure with
Rory Duggan.
The Panthers return the field and look to continue their win streak when they host Southern Connecticut State on Wednesday at 7:00 PM.
