Garden City, N.Y. - Following a celebration of the members of the graduating class, both the men's and women's swimming teams captured victories over St. Joseph's University on Saturday, to kick off the new year. 

The men defeated the Golden Eagles 60-25, while the women took a 56-14 decision from the Long Island neighbor. 

Women's highlights:

• Delaney Noel topped the 1650 and 500 freestyle events, touching the wall in 19:32.74 and 5:38.16, respectively. 
• The women won 10 of 11 events that were raced.
• Emily Munayirji posted a 2:21.67 in the 200 butterfly race to put her in the top-15 for the conference, and her best time of the season. 

Men's Highlights:

• Gus Upchurch swam the fastest time for a rookie in the Northeast-10 Conference in the 1650, clocking in at 17:31.53, which is also third best overall.
• The men's team won eight of 10 events that were contested in the lanes.
• The Panthers put an all-senior relay together in Cooper Rivers, Frank Genna, Matt Walter and Casey Fonesca for the 200 freestyle relay.

Adelphi takes on WPI and Bentley University on Tuesday, January 14 at the site of the NE10 Conference Championship - the four day event will take place in just under a month from Tuesday.
