Keene, N.H. - Wrapping up play yesterday, the Adelphi University women's golf team took home a fifth place finish at the Franklin Pierce Fall Invitational, hosted at Brentwood Golf Course in Keene, N.H..

The 'Cats finished about midway through the eight school tournament, sandwiched in between familar foes New Haven and Assumption. Only two of the participating schools weren't from the NE10, with those being West Chester and Laval. The other three attendees were host Franklin Pierce, Bentley, and Saint Anselm.

Leading the way for the first time in her Panther career was sophomore Lauren Jaskier. The Cheektowaga, N.Y. native shot a team-best 76 on Day 2, bringing down her total score to 14-over 158. Right behind her was fellow sophomore standout Filippa Schulze Doering. Following up on her fourth place performance at the WCU Battlefield Classic last week, Schulze Doering had the inverse of Jaskier's showing. Starting hot with a 76 on Day 1, an 11-over 83 on Day 2 proved to knock her down on the leaderboard, yet still finishing 17th.

Freshman Ivory Drusch was the next closest member of the Brown and Gold, shooting a two-day tally of 24-over 168. Another second-year in Jenny Kim fell just two strokes behind at 26-over 170.

Adaline Ochoa and Cat Slade rounded out the Panther scorecard, with both compiling a 171, with Slade's score being counted as an individual.

Head Coach Bill Bresnan and the Panthers will now take a nearly two week hiatus as they prepare for the upcoming NE10 Championship, being held at Blackstone National Golf Club in Sutton, Mass. The event will take place from Sunday, Sept. 29 - Monday, Sept. 30.
